GILA House is a successful, volunteer
based, 501.c.3 non- profit agency that
has been serving the Globe-Miami area
since January 1, 2010. Our mission is to
provide General Interim Living Assistance

(GILA) to families who have suffered

a life altering event that potentially

could result in homelessness.

On September 10th, 2019 we received the Notice of Certification as Qualified Charitable Organization.

Our vision is to become a full service,
multi-family interim living assistance
facility, providing emergency housing

and transitional housing with full time
and volunteer staff.

We also provide a community assistance

program to assist the elderly, disabled,

and economically disadvantaged by

performing emergency repairs to allow

them to remain in their residences.

Our goal is to provide a healthy, safe,

energy efficient environment for the

seniors of our local community..

Families Need Us
Statistics show 20.7% of the Southern
Gila County population is barely
functioning at or below the federal
poverty level.

According to the Globe Fire Department

12 families, on average, are burned

out of their homes each year.

The need for a housing safety net
for the families of our communities
is critical.

GILA House Process

Families typically go to a local organization for help when they become/have been threatened
with homelessness. The partner organizations and community members then call upon GILA
House for assistance.

Families apply for assistance  through GILA House. The applications are screened and suitability
for our services are determined. During their stay at the GILA House, families must complete a
family plan with a case manager, receive life skills training, job training and placement services.
Our goal is to empower them to achieve a stable, functional, permanent living condition.
