Ana Vargas and Claudia Dalmolin had the opportunity to meet with the governor's office in the town of Miami on February 23, 2024.
They were able to discuss the community needs in Gila County and open grant opportunities for continued funding of Gila House.
In August of 2022, Gila House, Inc. received a grant from the Arizona Department of Housing. This grant affords Gila House, Inc. the opportunity to purchase an additional multi-family property and a sustainable program development budget through 2028.
In April of 2022, Gila House, Inc. was awarded a grant from the Arizona Department of Economic Security. This grant provides Gila House, Inc. funds for currently owned property development relative to a planned multi-unit transitional living facility and the development of a "Wraparound" Services Program.
In November of 2022, Gila House, Inc. was awarded a grant from the Freeport McMoran Community Investment Committee. This grant provides Gila House, Inc. the necessary funds and the balance needed to begin Phase II of the property development project mentioned with the allocation of funds from the Department of Economic Security (mentioned above)
